Saved Collection Chronicles…to Saved Collection Closet!

Allow me to reintroduce myself for those who do not know me. My name is Jap Kaur Kanwar, I am the founder of Saved Collection Chronicles, a blog intertwining the topics and pushing for global conversations about fashion, and psychology. Yes, you read that right. My interests and research in this subject are on a standstill until I receive my interview with Dr. Carolyn Mair, PhD. Until then, Saved Collection Chronicles will slowly be transitioning to Saved Collection Closet, as we know research takes a lot of work, especially with a one woman show! By no means am I giving up on the topic of intertwining the two subjects, but I do give Dr. Mair a lot of credit, and especially as a woman to dwell deep into the topics and bringing them to life. For those of who are interested in Dr. Mair’s research or would like to read more about her work in depth, here is an interview from the American Psychological Association https://www.apa.org/research/action/speaking-of-psychology/fashion.

Now, do not worry! I am still here, but even better this time. More up to date posts on everyday basics, introducing guides through my Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/savedcollectionchronicles/, and learning to navigate posting and creating more content for you guys. My hopes and dreams for this blog is to slowly introduce a part of my closet to you all, inspire more everyday looks from the basics of our wardrobes. We don’t need to spend a ton of money to carry our beauty, or do we? I guess we will find out with Saved Collection Closet as I share my everyday basic essentials from my very own closet!

I hope this transition will inspire those around me and those globally to view my closet, inspire your closet, and then to carry onto other closets around the world!

Simplicity speaks volumes.

Empowerment in Our Skin

Empowerment – “authority of power given to someone to do something”

Empowerment– “refers to measures designed to increase the degree of autonomy and self-determination in people and in communities in order to enable them to represent their interests in a responsible and self-determined way, acting on their own authority. “

The topic of empowerment has risen over the last couple of years. You choose to wear something that empowers you, makes you feel like a boss, encourages you to make that powerful leap in life. But why do others see your empowerment as a failure, a disgrace, ugly, not up to trend? Why does our society feel that its it’s job to tell us what we feel confident in wearing or stepping out on the streets with? We all carry ourselves individually no matter our race, ethnicity, gender, and identity. Empowerment. The word that has a strong uplift in our world, yet people find it incredibly hard to accept within themselves. You might be the type of person who chooses to empower your friends, families, strangers, but deep down inside, it lacks within you. I understand it because I’ve felt it. Its now time to stop and think, understand and feel why our world should merge the global conversation of fashion with psychological aspects. My mission with my blog Saved Collection Chronicles is to empower people and help encourage the conversation of fashion psychology, by bringing awareness to the importance of self-empowerment. Saved Collection Chronicles will also present conversations from many different people taken from social media, different blogs, fashion websites, and will open the topic for discussion in the comment section. The goal for Saved Collection Chronicles is to inform others of the importance of fashion by engaging in the conversations with influencers, and non-influencers on their take around the psychological aspects that many of us fail to see or understand. Together we can take this small piece of ourselves and incorporate it into a global discussion for many to join!
